Generational striker Erling Haaland secures a crack at his initial international competition this coming summer, after leading Norway to the World Cup.

Additionally, the 25-year-old Premier League striker did it in outstanding performance, scoring 16 goals in eight World Cup qualifying matches - finding the back of the net consistently in every one of those games.

That makes him the highest scorer in 2026 World Cup qualification in any continent.

Moreover, his squad's 4-1 win versus Italy on Sunday, where Haaland scored twice, ensures they will playing in next summer's World Cup in the American continent.

The striker commented following the match: "I'm happy, but primarily relieved. There's significant pressure and stuff, and I feel it. But it's exciting."

However, it's not just a one-man show.

Team leader Martin Odegaard, 26, has more assists than anyone else in European qualifying - seven.

The Gunners playmaker has made 67 appearances for Norway since his initial cap at the age of 15.

"Combine Haaland's success with the fact that in this generation we furthermore feature Martin Odegaard," said a football expert.
