Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
